My guide and artistic collaborator Alyona took me to an elegant building on Nevskiy Prospekt which has an open colonnade at first floor level – this made it possible to shoot a panoramic view along the street, clear of street signs and clutter at ground level. And of course to shoot a striking perspective view along the colonnade itself, remarkably free of shoppers!
